The Community Farm

The Community Farm is an organic, not-for-profit, community-owned farm in the Chew Valley, about 8 miles from Redland. It was started, with help from members of Sustainable Redland, in order to contribute to the resilience of our food security, the local economy, and to the development of a self-sustaining, low-carbon food and farming system.

The farm grows organic vegetables and fruit, runs an organic vegetable box scheme, and has a wholesale business supplying restaurants and shops. Members have a say in how the farm operates, receive discounts on veg boxes, and are invited to special events at the farm.

The farm also aims to enhance the public’s understanding of the land, engage people with how food is grown and how this can be done in a manner that is healthy for both us and the planet. This includes inviting school groups to the farm, providing a range of adult learning courses as well as children’s activity days.
