Mostly we have talks, or workshops or just a gathering to keep everyone up to date. Everyone is welcome – even if you’ve never been before – we promise to be friendly and you don’t have to volunteer for anything (unless you want to). All are at the Friends Meeting House on Hampton Road, opposite the Clyde Arms pub, starting at 7.30pm.

6 October, 17 November, 19 January, 16 March, 18 May, 20 July.

Musicians, delicious food, and an ever growing range of produce, means that more and more customers are coming along to our Saturday market – first and third Saturdays of the month, 8.30 am to 2 pm. This is an opportunity to taste and buy real food from real producers, and they can tell you exactly how everything is grown and made. The extra trade has even been spotted by one of our local bloggers.

Due to popular demand, we have agreed to broaden the remit of our twice-a-month Farmers Market. It will now be the Whiteladies Road Farmers and Fair Trading Market, and we aim to have a wider range of produce – all to do with lovely food, plants and other items that help reduce packaging and cut down on harm to the environment. We are planning on having regular live music, teas/coffees, and some family-friendly activities so that it becomes a fun social event as well as just a chance to buy ethical, traceable delicious produce. We had a fantastic relaunch on 3 July 2010 with a Pets Corner, a barbecue, teas and coffees and a ribbon cutting ceremony where Councillor Simon Cook, Deputy Leader of Bristol City Council kindly came and cut the ribbon for us.

On Friday 26 March Lord Justic Carnworth issued his judgement on the proposed Heathrow Third Runway. This arises from the judicial review brought by campaigners. The full judgemnt is here. And an article explaining the significance is here on the Airportwatch website. The Judge said that it was not reasonable to rest the case for expansion on the Aviation White Paper now that a legally binding climate change bill had been passed. The judgement is complex, as are the planning processes it examines. This has significance for Bristol airport.
