Marks and Spencer to go carbon neutral

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

M and S has announced its plan to be carbon neutral by 2012. Interviewed on Radio Four’s Today programme, Chief Executive Stuart Rose explained the reason very simply “I read the Stern Report. It’s frightening, we have no choice, we must make these changes.” The plan has been welcomed by Greenpeace, and unlike many gimmicks announced by big business, which amount to little more than window dressing, this plan aims to address all aspects of the store’s economic activities.
